Very petite for her age, Austen is often considered unassuming and doe-eyed. She dresses in rather girly but still comfortable kinds of clothing. Her skin is soft, and a warm white color. The woman's hair is long and dark brown, so dark that it appears black, especially when wet. Austen's eyes are a simple coppery brown with green around the irises. She slight in shoulder, very slender, with long legs and small feet. She is very delicate and has a elegant build but does not appear to be at all athletic. All in all she's a healthy young woman with a dress size of three and a shoe size of six. Her hair is often straight or wavy, and normally put into a simple pony tail. She only wears it down on her days off. Austen does wear reading glasses when working and on anything technological. She finds them a bother, just like she does hair bands, but both of them are needed. Seeing as her hair can be unruly and looks like a giant nest when she wakes up in the morning. Austen wears a small amount of make up, and prefers a more natural looking appearance.

Austen is definitely the kind of person that would do well among the likes of kids and animals. She's patient, sweet and sometimes silly to a point (though mostly overly silly and animated in her approach), and occasionally will poke fun at herself if she feels a bit overworked. A very clever girl, she could've gone on to be a doctor or even a professor but preferred to stick to what she knew best, and that was books. Admittedly Austen is a rather inquisitive and has the tendency to get into trouble - more often than not by 'accidentally' eavesdropping or nosing into other people's business. She also tries to be helpful, even if she knows it's not any of her business. However if she's not being nosy she can be rather closed up and shy. Outside of her job she loves to run up and say hello to others, though anything beyond small talk makes her a little uneasy.

If Austen gets worked up about something however, she has the tendency to fret and become anxious about it. She's a bit of a worrywart when it comes to her friends. Ironically however, if she grows nervous she'll have the tendency to talk your ear off and pace continuously. Austen is like a sponge when it comes to information - trivia, likes, dislikes, she'll soak them and store them in her memory backs for future reference. She has the tendency to pick up on cues as well and will often think of other people before herself. A very kind person, she would pass some money off to a stranger and even stay at a friend's house until they get better. 'A little something special' is what she commonly says when she gives people things and depending on the context, that could come in the form of money, food, or longer check out times. Even if she doesn't look it, Austen is also a brave person - and will take a stand if she feels something in her life or someone else's is being threatened.

Not one to talk about herself, she prefers to involve herself in the concerns of others and will often 'deflect' anything that may involve her sharing something. She does it rather smoothly and will often end up changing the subject. Her physical appearance especially is a topic she finds herself uncomfortable and with and she will often shy away from anything pertaining to it. Austen loves to learn things, so anytime she could pick up a book or take a class on something just because it fascinates her - she will. Though she doesn't take that same initiative when it comes to her long buried dream of becoming a writer, she's slowly getting there. Though it's not a trait you will often see with her, Austen does love to have fun, and can be a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Though you won't see her jumping out of an airplane anytime soon (due to her fear of heights and falling), she'll be the first to volunteer herself when it comes to roller coasters.

Now Austen isn't the boring assistant she likes to make herself out to be. She can come off bubbly sometimes and may not always get a joke. She's a little anxious when it comes to love and has read several classical novels (Pride and Prejudice, Withering Heights, and Princess Bride to name a few) that have her wondering what it could be like for her. Though she isn't the type to flirt, she may act a little sweeter than usual towards men she finds herself attracted to and will often become flustered in their presence. She's not the type to really 'pursue' men but isn't sure how she feels about being chased either. Though Austen's first love will always be adventure - something that she has an interest in since she was eight years old. Whether it be diving into the sea or taking on a challenge, she would to do it - but is afraid that if she leaves her job behind, she would be disappointing her parents.

• When she turned eighteen, she was allowed to do what she wished, she began to wander around the city then but always returned home afterwards.
• In present day, she has since gotten a job at an eco-friendly foundation and has been working their for a little over a month as the personal assistant of the owner, Aiden Van de Kamp.
